Updating ipod from itunes

If you don't have i Tunes installed on your computer, download the latest version from Apple's website or get it from the Microsoft Store (Windows 10).

If you're not prompted to install a new version of i Tunes, you already have the latest version that your operating system can support.

In my case - if I play a downloaded track on my i Phone the play count updates almost immediately in i Tunes on i Mac.

But if I play an Apple Music track (in my example the track is an owned track with a 'matched' status) on my i Phone the play count in OSX i Tunes does not update at all.

I've seen forms of this question asked within communities but never a clear answer.

I've seen others indicate that I should deauthorize computer and sign out of i Tunes and leave it that way and it will work.

Assuming this does work - its just trading one issue for another.

See the System Requirements on the i Tunes download page for more information on what your system supports.

If any i Tunes updates are available, click Install.

Depending on the version of i Tunes that you have, there are different ways to update.
